Daily Blessings

April

April 1st:
How nice it is to be included -- and to include others.

April 2nd:
When I choose life, I choose myself. I choose Creation.

April 3rd:
When I see the divinity in another, I am more likely to experience my own.

April 4th:
Being an industrious person means moving beyond our self-centered need to produce.

April 5th:
My life is much simpler when I get clear about what I want.

April 6th:
Living a life of faith is what living is.

April 7th:
What if we found a way of building to heal?

April 8th:
I am learning to wait with my feelings and information. After all, it’s an insult to trust a person
who is not trustworthy. When we do so, we are not seeing who the other person really is.

April 9th:
Only when I know who I am can I honour those different from me. Only when I honour those different from me can I be truly civilized.

April 10th:
Tolerance is a gift of spirituality. Tolerance is not possible when one believes he or she is the only one who is “right.”

April 11th:
Child rearing is key to a healthy culture, and it is a waste of time to attempt healthy child rearing in a sick system.

April 12th:
Spirituality is the key to our planet’s problems. Getting back to spirituality is simple and not easy.

April 13th:
We have so much to learn from nature about living. We and our grandchildren won’t learn from it if nature is not here.

April 14th:
I should seek a wise teacher only when I am ready to learn with my entire being.

April 15th:
Wisdom starts with mistakes.

April 16th:
Spending a day with a Native Elder feeds my mind, my soul, my creativity, and my being.
I am grateful for all those who preserve the old ways.

April 17th:
Wakan-Tanka is not an abstraction in our lives. Waken-Tanka is our lives.

April 18th:
Sometimes I forget how much love and protection I have in my life.

April 19th:
The older we get, the less we feel the need to please others. That’s why it is so important to listen to our Elders.

April 20th:
In many lands of the free, the Natives have not been free. Freedom is a right of us all.

April 21st:
Something is happening in the “whole” that has tribal people the world over speaking out with
the same message. We need to listen and learn.

April 22nd:
When all things are one, there is no one-up, one-down.

April 23rd:
Science is not only bigger than we think, it may be much older than we think.

April 24th:
Making time for the Creator in our daily lives is not a luxury. It is a necessity.

April 25th:
Maybe the reason we need so much is because we’re going so fast.

April 26th:
There is so much to learn. We need the Elders from many places and many races to teach us!

April 27th:
The proverbs of a culture are necessary learning tools. We need to use them more often.

April 28th:
Jesus said, “The meek shall inherit the earth.” Does “the meek” mean people who live with indigenous wisdom?

April 29th:
Talk is cheap. Cons are easy. Action requires a commitment.

April 30th:
Loving and touching are good medicine for the soul.
