Warriors Past

In Rememberance of Crazy Horse

September 5, 1877

Sioux chief Crazy Horse was fatally bayoneted by a US soldier after resisting arrest at Fort Robinson, Nebraska. He was held by Little Bigman while he was bayoneted, his words to the officer prior to arrest were deliberately mistranslated. He knew he would die at the hands of his own people for his people. He only came in for his people.

A year earlier, Crazy Horse had led combined Sioux-Cheyenne forces to victory over George A. Custer's troops at the Battle of Little Bighorn, Montana. Crazy Horse was killed when he was only 34 years of age.

Even death hasn't quelled the fear of him as his spirit still is with us. Crazyhorsewas a shirt wearer, he lived for his people.
