December
Decmeber 1st:
When I move from struggle
and control to observation and wonder, I begin to learn.
December 2nd:
Forgiveness starts with the
self.
December 3rd:
When we risk learning to receive,
we risk getting what we want.
December 4th:
Who as we to think we know
it all?
December 5th:
Open systems are a lot of
fun.
December 6th:
Is there something I have
that is more important to me than my spirituality? If so, I need
to take a look.
December 7th:
We have something to learn
about "frugal comfort" and devoting our "leisure to the things of spirit."
December 8th:
Gratitude is not static. It
is an ever-flowing river.
December 9th:
I am responsible for my life
--- not ot blame --- responsible. Only I can choose to live it.
December 10th:
It is not only WHAT the Elders
say, it is also the way they say it and what they do with what they say
that gives such wisdom.

In community, we live and
work together. There is no hierarchy of profession.

Respect is a very versatile
attitude. It can be applied to so many things.

The wisdom the Grandmothers
bring to birthing is everyday wisdom. It is not just for special occassions.

When I stumble with the toe,
I fall down. When I stumble with the tongue, I invite disaster.

It is time to listen to the
wisdom of the Elders.
December 16th:
The God of everywhere and
everything is always with me.
December 17th:
There is nothing more beautiful
than a green Irish meadow.
December 18th:
I am responsible for what
I say. I am responsible for how I choose to live my life. My life is what
I do with it.
December 19th:
Belonging is a culteral issue
as well as an individual issue. Being in community helps a lot.
December 20th:
The right knowledge comes
from inside.
December 21st:
I can't make AROHA {unconditional
love that is derived from the presence and breath of the Creator} happen.
I can be open to it and look
for the blocks in me that prevent my giving and receiving it.
December 22nd:
My "higher spiritual consciousness"is
present in my oneness with nature. I have but to wait with it.
December 23rd:
The wisdom of Native people
can open many new doors to spirituality. I am grateful for whatever Native
people have to share with me.
December 24th:
Community is the playground
where we can move through the dance of life.
December 25th:
I can achieve nothing greater
than to live my life in tune with the Creator and to leave a better place
for those who follow.
December 26th:
Intimacy, real intimacy, is
always out of control.
December 27th:
Community is not something
we can "make" happen. Community emerges as we participate in life with
those around us.
December 28th:
Hearing stories grounds us
--- the more stories, the better; the greater the diversity, the better.
December 29th:
Listen, listen, listen. We
have much to learn.
December 30th:
All life is a celebration
with the Creator.
December 31st:
I am so blessed by this wisdom.
I offer what I have learned to those who are ready to hear.
