How
Old Is My Spirit
by Two Feathers
This poem I wrote for my daughters 7th birthday as it marks a wonderful learning time in her life.
When my spirit's story is told,
you will think I'm very old.
I remember when Mother Nature
wore a smile,
now people litter every mile.
When all the medicine we'd
ever need ,
grew from just a seed.
I remember when the buffalo
were by the hundred,
herds and herds sounds just
like thunder.
And every little girl knew,
where all the wild flowers
grew.
When my spirit's story is
told,
you will think I'm very old.
I'm sure my spirit has been
to heaven,
even though I'm only seven.
This was written from dreams she has asked me about, I wrote the poem to help her understand her dreams.
